The Half Moon Cafe is located in the wonderful setting of Roberts Park in the World Heritage site of Saltaire, near Bradford, West Yorkshire. The Park has recently been restored to its glorious Victorian design with original planting, promenades and grassy areas, and a new addition of a magnificent children’s adventure playground. The cafe occupies the grade 2 listed building originally built by Titus Salt for the use of Saltaire Cricket Club, in fact a statue of Titus sits majestically on top of the building.
Open throughout the year, the cafe sells quality coffee, teas, Brymor ice cream and a range of home made hot and cold dishes. There is plenty of seating inside and out (wonderful on a sunny day!). We have achieved the prestigious 5* award for food hygiene and work hard to offer excellent service. The cafe welcomes everyone and has facilities for people with disabilities and parents with young children.
The Half Moon Café is a voluntary organisation run by Saltaire Cricket Club in partnership with the local community. Over 40 shareholders including members of the club, individuals and groups in the local community bought shares worth £100 each raising a total of over £25,000 for the setting up the café in Spring 2010.
Many staff give their time voluntarily to ensure the cafe offers a great experience for visitors to the Park.
This is truly a venture supported by the community for the benefit of all!
